WHY TEA?
We love tea, and want to create a family of fellow tea lovers.
IN THE BEGINNING
We have always loved tea.
In the early 1980s the Husband-slash-Boyfriend ("Peter" to the general public) and I did the big OE that most young New Zealanders do. We travelled to England and Europe to seek adventure and see the sights. New Zealand is a pretty small country; far, far away from the rest of the world.
And Adventures we had, almost as soon as our little Kiwi feet touched English soil.
We ran a Pub in London - lots of tea was served as well as beer. We worked in Harrods - again tea was drunk in copious quantities. Lastly, we became the Butler and Cook in a manorhouse in Berkshire. You can not imagine how many morning and afternoon teas we prepared and served.
We loved a good cup tea ourselves, so it was no hardship to play at being British.
....AND THEN....
Fast forward 25 years; we were on a family trip to Europe.
While exploring the streets of Paris I stumbled into what I can only describe as White Wabbit nirvana.
The largest tea shop in Europe - it was magical. Tins of all kinds of tea lined the walls; I stuck my nose into as many as seemed polite and inhaled the heady fragrances.
I knew then that one day I would start my own tea business.
....NOW
Living in Marlborough, New Zealand, we are social wee bunnies.
The Butler-slash-Husband built a teeny, tiny house so we could have people to stay, along with a teeny, tiny caravan. In the spring and summer we host High Teas for couples and groups, so it was natural that White Wabbit Tea would be born.
If we all sat down over a great cup of tea, I’m sure we could solve most of the World's problems. As Kiwis, we love getting to know people and having a good old chat over a cup of tea.
What could be better than a lovely cup of White Wabbit tea?
Love
